All good things must come to an end
Updated Nov 1, 2020
As much as we have enjoyed our patients and our medical practice in general, it is now time to close our office after over 30 years. Similar to other small businesses, the lockdown restrictions have been quite challenging and the many uncertainties make it very difficult to plan for the future.
We are NOT ending our professional relationship with our patients, but it will be in a modified form.
Because this is an unanticipated decision, there are details regarding our ongoing medical practice that still need to be worked out. For example, for our existing patients we would like to continue our (well established) consulting services and hope to offer video telemedicine as well which has recently been well received and adopted by many medical professionals.
Our current office will be closed no later than December 30, but uncertain circumstances may necessitate an earlier closure date. We will keep you updated on this.
THERE ARE SOME CERTAINTIES:
- Our email communication will continue (info@tvmedicalgroup.com).
- We will refill your current medications at least through the end of January (if they are not already refillable in 2021).
- We will post updates on our website as decisions/plans are made (www.tvmedicalgroup.com).
- Your records will be stored securely and available for copying after we close (details pending), but you may request copies from our office before then.
Please request copies before Nov 30 (click here to download release form) and consider the following advice:
- The records are scanned by an outside service to a CD. You should keep this copy for yourself and then provide a copy to any future physician as needed (rather than transfer to another office directly - there are frequent 'glitches' with this approach).
- Many doctors now only require 2-3 years of records from new patients. This will keep your copying costs down, which are determined by the volume of pages. This is especially true for our patients with 20-30 years of records.
PILOTS: you will receive an email soon with information specific to our FAA exams so you can stay current, and for future scheduling.
Given the wonderful relationship with our patients, we will miss our "Ramona Ave" visits with you and regret that our decision could not have been delivered more personally. We extend our warmest wishes and welcome ongoing communication (as described above) in whatever form that may take.
Stay tuned, and Happy Trails! KT and JV
